From 2003 to 2006, the team's Most Inspirational Award became the exclusive property of winger Brandon Kape. In addition to his 131 career point (64 goals/67 assists) contribution, his early mentorship of the freshman Class of '07 segued into a prototypical model that future leaders could emulate. It seems only fitting that upon his graduation as the reigning captain of the school's first and only National Championship team in 2006, an award given for the obvious attributes of such an individual should be hereafter named in his honor. The player voted by his peers each season receive the Brandon Kape Most Inspirational Award.
